Dinner in 20 minutes or less? No problem!
What’s for dinner?! This super quick and easy one pan tortellini is perfect for a quick weeknight meal. We love the spicy andouille sausage but have also whipped this up with chicken, and even a combination of the two!
Make sure to serve up some garlic bread with this creamy tomato sauce so you can sop up any of that extra sauce in the bottom of your bowl!

A simple recipe with multiple possibilities
That maybe sounds dramatic, but you can swap out ingredients in this uber-easy skillet pasta so it tastes like a whole new dish!
Chicken? Okay.
Sausage? Perfect.
Seafood? I haven’t personally tried it, but I don’t see why not.
Add some veggies? You see where I’m going here 😉 BTW, I love my garden fresh cherry tomatoes and have tossed a few of those in as well.
Slice, Slice Baby
Start by slicing up your sausage into small rounds, or half moons if you prefer smaller bites. I love the Zatarain’s Andouille sausage – you’ll use both of them in the package for this recipe.
This time I used one chicken breast along with one of the sausages.
That was the hardest part
Really, slicing up that sausage was as tricky as this is going to get.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add some oil, then your sliced sausages. Cook ’em for about 5 minutes, stirring once. I like them to have a little bit of browning on them.
This is my favorite skillet! I use it for all of my one skillet meals. It goes from stovetop to oven and it’s large enough to make just about anything. If you’re up for treating yourself to a little splurge 🤑 the ink is below.
Viking Stainless Steel Sauté Pan
Add heavy cream, pasta sauce and broth. Chicken, vegetable, beef; whatever you’ve got handy. I usually have chicken broth on hand so that’s what I use.
Mix in seasonings.
Reduce heat to low and add frozen tortellini. Cover and allow to simmer for 10 minutes.
