Your two favorite Chinese appetizers, literally wrapped into one!
What’s better than freshly fried, crispy and gooey-gooey cream cheese crab rangoons? Probably rolling them up in an easy to eat egg roll!
These are a great side to eat with egg roll ramen bowls.
Start by mixing softened cream cheese with worcestershire sauce, garlic powder and onion salt. When thoroughly combined, mix in finely chopped imitation crab and green onions.
Place filling in refrigerator to solidify for for up to 30 minutes. This will prevent it from getting overly soft when frying.
How to wrap an egg roll
Spoon a large tablespoon of filling onto an egg roll wrapper. You’ll wet the edges of the egg roll wrapper as you close it. This will function as the ‘glue’ to hold everything in place.
Fold the bottom up to cover the crab meat filling.
Next, fold the sides in like an envelope. Don’t forget to wet the edges as you go!
Finally, fold the top down to seal all of that deliciousness in your little egg roll pouch.
Frying
Heat oil to 375 degrees. Use a candy/deep fry thermometer to ensure oil is ready.
Fry each side until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
